Useful Information
The SOLAS V Legislation
The new SOLAS V regulations came into force on July 1st 2002. For the
very first time there are regulations within this document which apply
to leisure vessels.More importantly, it has now become law that every
passage outside of 'categorised' waters requires a passage plan. (see
regulation 34).
Since its inception, MSS has been offering advice and assistance with
passage planning as part of its information service. For further details
of this and the other services we offer see our membership benefits
section, contact us on 01300 348998 or email us at
mss@marinesupport.co.uk
Our aim is to make information more readily available to our members,
and we hope you find the following links helpful.

Training
MSS actively encourages its members to prepare as fully as possible
before embarking on a trip. With this in mind MSS recommends that all
boat owners learn the skills necessary to successfully skipper a boat by
attending one of the many training courses offered by the RYA.
